"Whatever you choose to do, leave tracks. That means don't do it just for yourself. You will want to leave the world a little better for your having lived." - RBG
.
This month was Woman’s History Month and what better way to celebrate with a quote by the incredible Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Our Pre-K friends learnt about some of the woman that made important impacts on our world!
One of these woman is Amelia Earhart.
Our friends took recycled materials to make our own version of a Kinner Airster biplane, the plane Ms Earhart first owned.
We read about her accomplishments and continued our excitement with other stories of females in flight!
Our favorite fiction picture book for the month was ‘Violet the Pilot’, a story about a little girl who made flying machines and used them to help people.
Some of our little explorers were excited to play on a “real” airplane when we were on our nature hike.
Maybe we have a few pilots in the making!

We continue on our series of ‘Zoe and Sassafras’ and cant wait to see how Zoe will help the “moldy monster” using science experiments.
All of programs were excited to run our own science experiments, like making our own “Bubblegum” or trying (and failing) to build a solar robot.
Some of our older friends were able to practice wood burning – drawing out the picture they wanted and using the burning tool to trace the edges.
We also learned about big storms and collected enough fallen natural materials to complete this year’s nature collage.
I cant wait to see the finished piece!

Monty Python would be proud… ‘Ni!’
Our incredible guest Mr Mat, came to visit Wombat Hollow and show our friends how to wield a medieval sword!
We were able to hold a real replica sword and learned with awesome practice swords and shields.
Mr Mat helped us learn how to spar safely and the rules that come with using a sword safely.
All of us (including some of the elder wombats) really enjoyed being knights for the afternoon. Thank you so much Mat, we thoroughly enjoy our times with you.

So Lucky!!!
St Patrick’s Day had our friends making Leprechaun traps. These traps are also little bird houses that we will be hanging up when the rain slows down!
We were so lucky to have tricked the fairy folk with our gold painted rocks and, by Leprechaun law, they had to leave us gold coins.
The coins were very tasty!
One of Marika the pig and Ms Dee’s favorite days is Pi day.
We celebrated by reading out some of the numbers that make Pi while eating cherry and pecan pies.
We also got into the spirit of the day by making our own pizza pie… I mean, that’s why we use Pi right? To learn the circumference of round things?
