Parking and drop off/pick up procedure

⁃ Please drive up to the classroom entrance, and a mentor will greet you at the little white picket gate, so there is no need to park for pick up and drop off.

⁃ Entrance to the classroom is no earlier than 10 minutes before the program begins. ⁃ Please refrain from entering the classroom before the program ends. Sometimes we will be working hard and need to focus.

⁃ Parking is in front of the play area fence in front of the little classroom, please refrain from parking on the grass beyond that fence.

Class visits/chats

⁃ You are always welcome to come and join in a class, however, we ask that we discuss a time in advance so we can make sure we aren’t interrupting important routines or spoiling a surprise!

⁃ We are always happy to chat. Wombat Hollow Farm is a place for community and conversation. What we ask is that if you would like to chat face to face, to come see me after a program or message me. I’m always happy to organize a chat out of program hours, so I can give you the attention you deserve!

⁃ Feel free to contact me via email or text message. I like to dedicate weekends to my family, but I will endeavor to reply as soon as possible. That just may be on the next business day.

Snacks and backpacks

Important: Please label everything your child brings to Wombat Hollow!

⁃ We request that you pack a snack for your child for every program. We will have opportunities to taste test from the garden and special occasions, so ensure you are up to date with your children’s allergies records in the Jovial app so we can accommodate them.

⁃ Please always include a water bottle.

Clothing is Key!

Wombat Hollow programs spend as much time outside as possible, so it is so important that your child has the right gear.

Hotter months

⁃ Sunscreen needs to be applied before your program starts, but pop your preferred sunscreen in your child’s backpack if you’re able to, in case we need to reapply. We have sunscreen here as well, and always try to ensure your child is protected.

⁃ Hats are so important. It’s so hard to concentrate and have fun with the sun in your eyes. ⁃ Shoes! We recommend closed toe shoes at all times. Wombat Hollow has been a farm for over 100 years and we are always finding pointy treasures. Also poop… there’s no way around it on a farm.

Colder months

⁃ Boots are required as soon as the rain starts!

⁃ Coats or Onesies. We love to get messy, so waterproof pants and jackets are the way to go. Layer as best you can and choose a waterproof onesie when you can!

⁃ Beanies and gloves! It’s amazing how fast little hands get cold, and as we don’t want them to stop their adventures, we need them to be comfortable. Waterproof gloves are the best choice. If that’s not an option, grab a few extras to pop in their backpack.

Requirements

There are a couple of extra things you will need to bring to your first day at Wombat Hollow Farm. The lists for these are in the Family portal. In addition to your child’s backpack, please send a water bottle, snack, medical requirements (eg inhaler or epipen, etc) and seasonal needs. Plus:

⁃ Emergency Kit

⁃ Spare clothes

Family Waiver

All participants are required to fill out a Liability Waiver before enrolling in our programs. You can find it on our Jovial portal.
