Excited to learn about the incredible artwork of Mexico, we read about Frida Kahlo and were inspired to make brightly colored creations.

We made succulents, using wire and beads, colorful hand stamped clay plates and our version of Mexican pressed tin artwork using puffy glue, foil and sharpies.

One of our favorite creations used our handprints to create cactuses. However, it was much more fun painting tables, paper and each other with little green hands.

September 2025

It is so beautiful to be back!

Noodles and I have had a wonderful month back meeting new friends and welcoming back familiar faces.

Starting September off with National Hispanic Heritage Month, our little friends were introduced to an array of Hispanic music and crafts from around the world.

We learned the story of the ‘Worry Dolls’ from Guatemala, and the princess Ixmucane.

Princess Ixmucane was given a gift from the sun god so she could solve any problem a person could ever worry about. The doll is a representation of the princess, given to children to give their worries to.

In tribute to the first Hispanic astronaut, Franklin Chang-Diaz from Costa Rica, our homeschool friends explored all things rocket!

We made soda bottle rockets, that either took “hours” to blasts off or a second in Ms. Dees arms, covering her with a magic concoction of vinegar, soda and food coloring.

Our friends used flour papier mâché to create our astronaut helmets and clay to sculpt our own rocket creations.

We learned to climb the apple tree and spoiled the farm animals (mainly Marika the pig) with the fallen fruit.

Our other time was spent collecting the last of the cherry tomatoes and zucchini, collecting the sunflower and poppy seeds, cracking open geodes, spending time in the hammock forest, building a fort and flying the plane!

Fasten your safety belts its onwards and upwards towards the festive season!

We are also Joined by…

Ms. Dee!

Giving Wombat Hollow double Ms. Dee trouble.

Contractor Ms. Dee Watson has come to help with some of the extra needs of the growing school and is already adored by everyone, and we can’t wait to spend the rest of the school year together.

A monthly reminder!

Wombat Hollow Farm is a safe place for all, no matter who you are, or where you come from.

So pack a good pair of boots, a big snack and a whole lot of kindness.

We love you.

Ms Dee, Noodles and crew.
